How Can GOP Evangelicals Push Back Against Anti-Semitism?

Dear Rabbi Lapin,

This is Jeff H. I had the pleasure of working for you. I have a question. I have long been aware of the special relationship the Jewish faith holds with G-d. I have always felt the temperature of American Sentiment towards the State of Israel. I have never been this concerned for the safety of Jews in America.

First the Palestinian cause among American college students, and now this Fuentes guy who loves Nazis, and it appears that MAGA is more open to embracing this. Tucker Carlson’s interview with him is deeply concerning.

Additionally, The Heritage Foundations explanation by the CEO, is deeply disturbing for me. I am a lifelong GOP voter. Casting my first vote for Ronald Reagan in 1984. I feel grave danger awaits, if this Evil is not pushed back against. I am just a person, what can I do to push back against this?

I live in Washington State, and the rabid liberals really do believe in political violence. I personally have been scared to even fly a Trump flag. Black Lives Matter flags fly aplenty. Additionally, my neighbor flies an upside down American Flag.

Since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, I am ready to be more bold, and would like to know how best we Christians who support Israel, address this Evil? I await your response.

Dear Jeff,

Even though the years have passed by, Susan and I remember you with great fondness. Thank you for writing to us with your very timely question. You might remember that back in the 1990s we were obsessively concerned about the anti-Christianism that prevailed in American entertainment, publishing, news, and politics. We fought it vigorously around the country because we saw that it would lead to many destructive consequences. These included a collapse in a shared system of values that defined being an American along with an uncontrollable rise in crime that no American of 1950 would be capable of comprehending.

In our view, anti-Semitism and hatred of the state of Israel camouflage the real danger. We see an unholy and unprecedented alliance forming between Islam and socialism which serves to radicalize younger Americans of the Gen Z demographic. The election of Zohran Mamdani in New York is just one of the more obvious examples of this dangerous trend.

In Biblical terms, ancient Jewish wisdom describes one form of bad times as an alliance between the wolf and the bear, with the wolf being Nazi-style Amalekism and the bear representing Soviet-stye destructive socialism. With Jacob prophetically fearing the future, God reassures him that at critical moments of history, He will save Israel by causing the bear and the wolf to fight one another.

One occasion on which we saw this was June 22nd, 1941, when four million German soldiers attacked their former friends, the USSR. This ultimate fight between hard-core anti-Semites and ideological socialists is an inevitable ultimate Biblical prophecy which history will repeatedly reveal.

The modern representation of Islam’s war on the Judeo-Christian west was probably declared when the “grand mufti of Jerusalem,” Hajj Amin al-Husayni, met with Hitler in Berlin on November 28th, 1941, to formulate joint plans to exterminate all Jews in the Ottoman Empire.

Yes, today’s Islamist haters are heirs to yesterday’s Nazi fanatics, and socialists are, well, socialists. That they are now friends and allies would be strange were it not that the Bible prepared us for this bizarre association of the ungodly.

Your letter concluded with your question of how Israel-loving and philo-Semitic Christians can best address this evil. We think that the most important thing for you to do is to help like-minded friends and relatives understand that America is under a serious threat from both Islam and socialists. The fact that you are afraid to openly show your support of President Trump demonstrates that. Don’t be side-lined by thinking this is only about a threat to Jews and Israel.

Once you are feeling emboldened, Jeff, join with likeminded Americans in the defense of America. When that succeeds, all else will be fine too.
