Because of your generous support to date which we deeply appreciate, we want to share with you our plans for the months ahead.
We cautiously welcome the Trump triumph as a possible last minute reprieve, a last chance to avert the abyss. Will it work out that way? We don’t know but what we do know is that ‘leaving it to the government’ will not work. As it did in the 18th century and the 19th century, the onus to act lies on our shoulders. If we ordinary citizens do not do it—who will?
But what exactly is it that we should be doing?
Let’s imagine a family living in one of the millions of houses built in the 1950s. The electrical wiring has never been upgraded, yet the electrical loads have gradually increased. The house now has air conditioning. It has a Tesla electric car charger in the garage. It has a home sauna installed in the master bathroom. Whenever someone is using the sauna and someone else plugs in the car for a recharge, the master breaker blows. In summer when the air conditioner comes on while a cake is baking in the electrical oven, the master breaker blows.
Each time the breaker blows and the house goes dark, the householder puts up a sign by one of the offending appliances warning family members not to turn it on if other appliances are being used.
In reality, the only simple solution needed is to upgrade the wiring and the breaker board to be able to handle higher current draws.
Similarly, there is one simple needed solution to repair three big problems facing America:
- Weakened culture
- Weakened economy
- Weakened military
Weakened culture reflects weakened family formation and stability resulting in the trivializing of male/female relations. Many people are growing up with limited impulse control, without a coherent value system, and without the tools of successful living. Instead of people knowing what they must do and when to do it, they are rudderless and drawn to entertainment and entitlement. Society starts suffering from lack of future awareness, declining fertility, loss of patriotism, and declining ambition. More and more of the population presses for government handouts. This soon results in a weakened economy.
A weakened economy means an inability to develop and build what is needed, including cutting edge weapon systems. It also makes it harder to attract the numbers and the qualities needed in citizen recruitment. Increased government dependence erodes self reliance and masculine strength and independence. Fewer people are working creatively and to their full potential. So, in time we see a weakened military.
But strengthening the military means strengthening the economy and the culture. The start to that is surely strengthening families. But how to do that? Attempts made by many countries including Japan, S. Korea, Hungary, to improve marriage formation and fertility by means of financial incentives and calls to patriotism have all failed.
The real answer is clear. Building a family requires confidence in the future and a bedrock of principles. That is best derived from Bible-based Judeo-Christian faith. When we examine pockets of faith in the United States, Israel, Europe and even China and S. Korea, we discover that those healthy regions defy their own gloomy national family and fertility statistics.
Yes, helping people see life through the lens of Bible-based Judeo-Christian faith, one soul at a time, is the ultimate avenue towards restoration of the culture, the economy and the military. The American Alliance of Jews and Christians (AAJC) stands shoulder-to-shoulder with you in this mission and we do our best to provide you with both the determination and the ammunition to seize this moment in history.
Among the powerfully effective ammunition we are creating is a new video program—Tower of Power: Decoding the Secrets of Babel – Video Series— detailing how and why socialism exerts such a fatal fascination for rootless people. We here at the AAJC are worried about this. Many parents and grandparents are feeling sad about the spiritual damage that universities and colleges are inflicting upon their children.
We feel that there are really only two visions of reality, just as there are only two ways to explain the presence of people on this planet: The God view–He created us in His image and put us here, and of course the opposite view–we are here because of a lengthy process of materialistic random natural selection. It necessarily follows that there are only two ways of organizing human society; in accordance with a Godly vision of people with all their strengths and weaknesses and a Godless vision of humans as nothing more than random collections of molecules. It used to be that both America’s political parties held to a Godly view of society, albeit with slightly different emphases. It was, after all, by a Joint Resolution of Congress in June 1954 that the words “Under God” were added to the Pledge of Allegiance.
However, that is no longer true. Could anyone imagine Congress in 2024 doing such a thing?
Socialism in one form or another has always throughout time been the promoted alternative to a Godly way of organizing society.
We are excited to make available this really useful tool for helping people explain to their family and friends just what is happening and what can and should be done. Turns out that the Tower of Babel in Genesis chapter 11 provides the blueprint. It’s taken a lot of work by many people to create this compelling video resource for this purpose.
We have also finished a wonderful resource this year for all those eager to fight this battle, The Holistic You: Integrating Your Family, Finances, Faith, Friendships and Fitness. We worked diligently to create a persuasive explanation of how successful individuals, families, communities, and nations need all five of these elements synchronized together in order to succeed. We hope to continue to make available many more resources, in addition to our weekly blogs and podcast, for you to use.
